Prasugrel

The active agent prasugrel, was jointly discovered by Daiichi Sankyo and its Japanese research partner Ube Industries. Further development and promotion of prasugrel is carried out in alliance with Eli Lilly and Company.

An anti-platelet agent, prasugrel is used to prevent atherothrombotic events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
