Olmesartan

Olmesartan is Daiichi Sankyo′s best-selling substance. In fiscal year 2009, the anti-hypertensive medication generated €1.82 billion in sales globally. More than 5 million patients worldwide have been treated with this drug since 2002.

Olmesartan is sold in Europe. It is also available in combination with other blood-pressure-lowering substances: in combination with hydrochlorothiazide and in combination with amlodipine besylate. A triple combination containing olmesartan with two additional anti-hypertensives in a single pill is now approved.
